Vintage Diamond Rings

I was wondering if it is possible to change the wedding band on an engagement ring? My mom gave us her first engagement ring from my dad, but the band is gold and I would really prefer white gold. I wasn’t sure exactly how this works/how long it takes/how much it would cost to have this done. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Does anyone know any good sites I can shop online to buy cheap vintage clothes, rings and just general pretty bits and bobs? help much appreciated

I realize it is not meant to be a purity ring, but I decided to just get a ring that I liked and make it into one, since it really doesn’t matter what it looks like, as long as you know what it means.

Now, second… Which finger should I wear it on? Some people think you wear it on the ring finger on your left hand so then you can replace it with a wedding ring one day. But other people say the ring finger on your right hand because it is your "purity hand" and your left hand is your "wedding hand". I guess it is just kind of a personal decision, but I can’t decide. So if you could give me your thoughts, that would be great. Thank you

trying to sell a vintage diamond ring.

My mom is trying to remember the name of a boardgame she played when she was little. It was sort of like Mousetrap where you set up little games but it was kind of a carnival game style where there was like a mini bean bag toss and mini tiddliwinks and you had to move around the board by playing the games. Does this ring a bell with anyone???

My boyfriend and I went shopping for my engagement ring. We have not bought anything yet but I tend to like the look of right hand rings better. I just like them better than a trad. engagement ring. When I showed the right hand rings tomy best friend @ the store the next day she looked at me like I was crazy and said that’s not the kind of ring I am supposed to wear! This isn’t one of those flower looking right hand rings….it is more of a vintage style ring. It cost the same and has the same weight as most typical engagement rings.
Is she right?!
I will be wearing this ring on my left ring finger. Not on the right.

Back in the mid 1970’s my parents bought a Gottlieb 2001 pinball machine from an arcade that was closing down. At the time they thought it was in great shape. Now I’m looking into restoring it a little…nothing major, just some lights, fixing the flippers and replacing the rubber rings. Anyways, I just discovered the outside of the case is painted completely differently than any pics I saw online, so I’m assuming this means it was repainted before my parents bought it. So I’m wondering, before I put time, effort and money into it, does the repainted case make it pretty much worthless, even though the rest is in great shape? Thanks!

I have a vintage Philco tube radio, model number 38-9 from the 1930’s. It’s in good shape, it turns on but only hums. The outside does need to be refinished though, it has a ring on it from a drink being set on it, and is extremely worn around all the edges. The knobs and dile are fine, but the cloth covering the speaker is worn and could be replaced. How should a refinish it without destroying it’s value? Do I just sand it with a fine grit sandpaper and re-stain it? Any experts out there?

It’s have a Diamond , When i test it the Diamond it is real but the Gold is 18K plated, Dose that sound right, it is a Vintage ring. Holding the Diamond on the ring is white gold around the Diamond.Can someone tell me if Vintage rings use plated gold with real Diamonds?

1 ring has an austraillian opal with diamonds and is worth 0-00 dollars, The other has green stones that are real, With diamonds, both 14k gold, This ring is also worth 0-00 dollars.

These are pretty vintage and i dont want to sell them for melt value, is there anybody i can go to around los angeles that buys vintage gold? or rings for more than just melt value?, i was thinking about ebay, but with all the fees thats like 20% loss, any help or maybe forums? websites? were people are interested in these kinds of rare gold items..

My fiance’ gave me a vintage style split shank engagement ring when he proposed, but I am having problems finding a band that works with the ring. The ring is already pretty prominent on my hand so I don’t want a band that overpowers my finger.

I’m sorry, there’s no way you can clean out the vile odors of 50 years of being in a mildew infested basement and slowly degrading hydrocarbons releasing benzene rings.
I may be an ***, but you most likely smell like an old gym sock.
If it’s newly made, even if it’s an old style, it’s not really "vintage" then is it? I’m talking about these hipster chicks who somehow have reached the conclusion that looking like their grandma is "edgy".
